MMA Sun 2014 Prospect Spotlight: The Featherweights – #1– Mirsad Bektic

Our #1 Featherweight prospect is Mirsad Bektic.  Like, Gleristone Santos, Bektic is a exciting fighter.  At just 22-years of age, Mirsad has to Bekticbe viewed as the featherweight with the brightest future.  He has a 7-0 professional record to go along with a undefeated amateur record.  Only one of his 7 fights have gone to the judges hands.  He is a real finisher.

The Bosnian fighter, has shown a wide range of skills in MMA.  Training now at American Top Team, Mirsad is surrounded by great training partners.  The folks at ATT, really believe that he is a star on the rise as well as a future champion.  He is a complete package.  Those that surround him speak of his drive and work ethic.  He has really good takedowns and relentless ground and pound.  We have seen Mirsad absolutely rag doll opponents.  A lot of times on the regional scene it just appears that guys are out matched.  Having been born in war torn Bosnia, Bektic grew up under extremely tough conditions, which have certainly shaped him as a fighter.  Mirsad trained some in karate and boxing as a teenager, before considering a career in MMA.  He has had some Muay Thai competition experience and has a 5-1 amaterur boxing record as well.  He is a very dangerous opponent in just about every place a fight can take place.  In fact, I believe he is the most dangerous of the fighters we have highlighted.

There is no doubt that this kid’s time will come.  In fact, I think it is his time.  He is worth a chance.  All you would have to do in order to be convinced is to watch him fight.  Bektic has all the right tools and seems to just have the right make up to be a true high level competitor in MMA.  I have very little doubt that 2014 will be the year he gets the chance in the big show.
