Moldavsky is a great Russian prospect who comes from Team Fedor.  Moldavsky has an impressive amateur resume to go alongside his undefeated professional record.  When I hear about Russia prospects, Moldavsky’s name is not usually in the first tier of names that I hear, but I really like his potential in the sport.  Moldavsky has a combat sambo background.  Valentin has good counter strikes.  He is not a super aggressive striker, but he can be effective in exchanges.  I also like how he handles himself in the clinch position.  He usually gets the better of the clinch battle.  Moldavsky makes good use of his takedowns and is always a threat to take the fight to the canvas.  I like his ability to maintain solid control from the top position.  Moldavsky is a real threat to win the Rizin Grand Prix, but I still believe that he made a mistake fighting in an open weight grand prix because size is a big issue.  His weight class should 100% be at 205 pounds.  I honestly would not be surprised if he could make 185-pounds. Regardless, I think Moldavsky is a legit prospect to watch.   He is still young enough where his upside is high.  He is surrounded by solid training partners and Fedor Emelianenko.  After watching Moldavsky, I believe that he could find a lot of success.  He is not the sexy prospect that some of the others are, but he wins fights.
